Notion

Primary-source desk review ยท September 3, 2026

A team that deliberately wants flexible documents, lightweight databases, and projects in one workspace and can enforce a shared information architecture.

Vendor-listed core features

  • โœ“ Databases
  • โœ“ Real-time Collaboration
  • โœ“ AI Assistant
  • โœ“ Templates

Pricing snapshot

The official page lists Free, Plus at $10/member/month, and Business at $20/member/month on the displayed annual-billing setting; AI credits and enterprise controls add separate cost considerations.

What the subscription does not operate for you

Name owners for workspace structure, permissions, templates, stale content, database conventions, and backups or flexibility turns into inconsistent process.

Migration and exit checks

Test representative documents, databases, relations, files, permissions, and embeds in both directions; a successful archive is not the same as a restorable workspace.

Notion exports HTML, Markdown, CSV, and files, but its documentation says an exported workspace cannot be instantly recreated by reuploading it.
