Zapier

Primary-source desk review ยท September 3, 2026

A small team that needs managed event-driven automation across many SaaS products and values connector breadth over owning the runtime.

Vendor-listed core features

  • โœ“ 5000+ Integrations
  • โœ“ Multi-step Zaps
  • โœ“ Logic Paths
  • โœ“ Formatters

Pricing snapshot

The official page lists Free with 100 tasks/month, Professional from $19.99/month, and Team from $69/month on annual billing. Actions, model tiers, code runtime, MCP calls, and overages can consume tasks at different rates.

What the subscription does not operate for you

Every production workflow needs an owner, failure alert, replay procedure, credential rotation plan, and a test for schema or permission changes in connected apps.

Migration and exit checks

Inventory triggers, actions, paths, custom code, credentials, schedules, and live volume; rebuild and shadow-run critical workflows before disabling them.

Zap files help move workflows between Zapier accounts, but do not make connector behavior, credentials, task economics, or the managed runtime portable to another engine.

Self-hostable workflow automation for common business integrations

Tradeoff: Verify the license and connector maturity for every workflow; enterprise features are separate.
